Make Money At Home With Ebay

By Shane Woods On May 9, 2008 Under Make Money At Home

Some people claim that they have been able to leave their desk jobs because making money at home on eBay has become more lucrative for them. That would seem like a mystery to people who depend on their 9 to 5 job to keep them financially afloat. The big news is, in this internet-savvy world, more and more money making opportunities are now available even to regular Joes and Janes as long as they have internet connections.

eBay is one of the most easily accessible means for people to get an online business going. This is because it allows an open-ended business model that gives one an infrastructure to work on and a worldwide audience to boot. In effect, you get an online marketplace that allows you to buy and sell on a regular basis.

The Advantages

1. Free infrastructure. With eBay, you have free online market space. This is a virtual market that allows you to set up shop and sell items. It also allows you to bid for items that you want to procure. The whole buy-and-sell system goes through eBay’s infrastructure, so you don’t have to build your own trading engine.

eBay, in turn, acts like the middle man between buyer and seller. This infinitely simplifies the transaction process. Now all you have to focus on is your role – whether that be buyer or seller.

2. Free advertisement/posting. You post your items on eBay and it is automatically made available to all people seeking such a product. Whenever they search eBay for a certain item – which you coincidentally are selling – eBay matches two and two and the buyer gets a look at your wares.

The Means

There are a few means by which you can make money on the internet. Take a look at the following.

1. Buy and Sell. The old-fashioned way to making money is still the best way: buy low, sell high. On eBay, this is made ridiculously simple. Finding cheap finds is easy using the search function of eBay. You can then add your markup and resell this item for a goodly sum.

The key here is having an intimate knowledge of item demand and prices. This allows you to find a steal on auction which you can post for an amount you know is fair and advantageous to you. You could also physically buy good discounts at thrift shops and other such locations and have them posted on eBay.

2. Sell alone. You could also try plain selling on eBay. You may have some old stuff in your home that you feel could fetch a good dollar, then why not dust it off and sell it on eBay. Your trash could very well be someone else’s gold. All you have to do is dust the item off a bit, get it shiny and new and you can sell it for a good dime on the internet.

Things to Watch Out For

Intermediate sellers on eBay report incomes on the upwards of $2000 per month just working on eBay. However, there are things you should look out for. For one, scammers abound in cyberspace, so you should look out for them that plan to cheat and steal online.

Make sure you take the proper precautions such as signing up for an escrow service such as Squaretrade, and never agree to dubious deals and terms that try to bypass the eBay process. eBay also helps mediate against such problems.

This is how I first started online but the bad thing was that I never really made any money but it brought me to looking for other ways to make monay online.
